Translating and Teaching Shobasakthi: Anushiya Ramaswamy in Conversation.

Anushiya Ramaswamy, Professor of English at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, is the translator of Tamil writer Shobasakthi’s auto-fictional work. In a conversation with Vihanga Perera, Anushiya reflects on many sides to her experience in translating one of the most iconic contemporary writers of the Tamil-speaking world and, in turn, the significance of Shobasakthi’s writing in mapping post-conflict Sri Lanka.
